Mr. Singer has been a strategy consultant to SoftBank and Yahoo! BB since 2003 and joined SoftBank Capital in 2004. He has been an industry pioneer in the Internet field for over a decade, working with SoftBank, Yahoo! BB, America Online and the Washington Post Company. Mr. Singer has a specific expertise in scaling emerging technologies and businesses on the Internet.

He was recruited by SoftBank to provide advice and help scale the broadband business in Japan as well as several portfolio companies in the U.S. Mr. Singer has led the effort to draft new growth strategies, streamline marketing costs and refine consumer insights. In addition, he has helped define the next generation of broadband product offerings.

Prior to joining SoftBank Capital, Mr. Singer worked at America Online from 1996 to 2002 as a Senior Vice President at many of the company’s operating divisions including AOL Studios (Content), ICQ (Instant Messaging) and Emerging Products, which worked on several new product categories ranging from small business, music, eCommerce and directories.

Mr. Singer was one of the early Internet pioneers, starting his career at the Washington Post Company in 1992 where he was a founder and headed business operations for the Washington Post Online Service (now WashingtonPost.com) until 1995. Previously Mr. Singer worked in corporate development for the company.

He was also formerly a Strategy Consultant at Bain & Company in Boston.

Mr. Singer serves on the boards of the Motley Fool Company, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (International Committee) and Upper Canada College.

He has an MBA from Harvard and a LLB, MA Philosophy, BA Philosophy with Distinction and B. Commerce with Honours from Queen’s University ( Canada ).
