Mr. Kimelberg joined SoftBank Capital in 2003 and has many years of experience in all aspects of business law, with an emphasis on counseling venture capital groups and businesses in numerous forms of financing and acquisition transactions. Mr. Kimelberg oversees all legal aspects of SoftBank Capital’s portfolio company investments, fund operations and day-to-day activities. He is also responsible for legal matters associated with the SoftBank Group that manages substantially all of SoftBank’s global activities outside of Japan.
Prior to joining SoftBank, Mr. Kimelberg was a corporate attorney with the Boston law firm of Foley Hoag LLP, where he specialized in representing venture capital groups and emerging companies. He also previously practiced corporate and tax law with Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft LLP in New York City, and was a law clerk for the Honorable J. Michael Deasy of the United States Bankruptcy Court.
Mr. Kimelberg received a Juris Doctorate from Cornell Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. He was also an editor of the Cornell Law Review. He received a BS in Finance, magna cum laude, from Northeastern University.
Mr. Kimelberg is a member of the New York and Massachusetts bars.
